Meet The Team
President + Founder
Gustavo embodies the synergistic advantage of One Rockwell. His knowledge of tech and his expertise in eCommerce all combined in one brilliant, creative business mind. He enjoys developing a unique world for a brand, seamlessly incorporating innovative solutions that let the user enjoy an intuitive, optimized experience within it. Beginning as a web designer and developer in 1996, he founded One Rockwell in 2001 to create and deploy award-winning digital products around the globe.
VP Technology + Founder
Paul brings more than 20 years of experience in software and web development to One Rockwell’s frictionless sites. He handles the technical aspects of each project, from infrastructure assessment, to development, testing, launch, deployment and post launch support. Before One Rockwell, Paul served as Chief Architect at Spiralfrog.com. He has built online solutions for Maxim, Blender and Stuff Magazines, as well as back-end systems for Marie Claire, Now Magazine, Loaded and NME. He also developed proprietary financial services software for The Hartford Insurance Group and GE Financial Assurances.
Colleen provides crucial support and advocacy to One Rockwell’s clients. Beginning with the initial discovery process, she helps to prepare the clients’ internal teams, and acts as a liaison to the agency, guiding them through important business decisions and eCommerce efforts. Colleen has a background in fashion design and business management and has served in wholesale and operations with Moschino parent company Aeffe and Anya Hindmarch.
At One Rockwell, she has successfully overseen site launches for Etienne Aigner, Todd Duncan Sam Edelman, Circus by Sam Edelman and Eddie Borgo.
Kat has produced award-winning work for Harrods, Farfetch, Net-a-Porter, InStyle Magazine, Collette Paris, Harvey Nichols Dubai, MyTheresa, Sunday Times, Saatchi & Saatchi, and many more.
For the past 10 years, Kat has worked across disciplines to deliver: branding and print, campaigns and content creation, photography, digital, social and e-commerce, seamlessly weaving together beautiful content and innovative experiences.
At One Rockwell Kat works with clients to ensure their digital visual ecosystem is effective and supportive of their overarching brand goals.
Executive Vice President + Founder
Shelly’s strong background in fashion and online retail makes her an invaluable advisor to One Rockwell’s clients in all aspects of ecommerce. Prior to joining One Rockwell, Shelly served as Creative Director of Accessories at Theory, where she oversaw the design, production and launch of the brand’s accessories collection. She applies her expertise to her work at One Rockwell, guiding clients on creative, sales, merchandising, brand extension, marketing and public relations.
IT + Analytics Director
With 16 years of IT experience, Jin is One Rockwell’s technological powerhouse. Previously, he served as Director of IT at Createthe Group where he partnered with key hosting providers to build and manage cloud infrastructures for web sites tested to handle up to $1 billion worth of ecommerce transactions per year. Jin also worked as technical account manager at one of the first managed hosting companies Digex (now Verizon) whose clients included Martha Stewart, Bed, Bath & Beyond and many other Fortune 500 companies.
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Stephanie oversees the 1R ecosystem, handling process standardization and reviews, resourcing, financial tracking, and product development.
With 9 years of experience in design and product development for various contemporary fashion brands following graduation from Parsons School of Design, Stephanie joined One Rockwell with a comprehensive understanding of the industry and Clients needs.
While at One Rockwell, Stephanie has collaborated on successful site launches for Circus by Sam Edelman, Eddie Borgo, Mara Hoffman, Eberjey and Mercedes Castillo while also supporting managed services for Sam Edelman and Loeffler Randall.
Director of Technology
Sam's relentless drive is to find practical use for technology. Programming since the age of 10, he then built his first distributed infrastructure in his teens. In the business world, Sam has managed technology projects and teams for M&A activity, ERP development, SaaS marketing automation, and ecommerce platform implementations. Currently he supports the Software Development and Business Analysis teams at 1R.
Strategic Advisor + Founder
A legendary luxury retail executive and recipient of the Parsons School of Design Visionary Award, Howard offers strategic advice to One Rockwell’s management team and invaluable mentorship to its clients. Beginning his career at Burdines in 1969, he worked his way up to Chairman and CEO in the ‘80s, growing the company from $475 million to $1.4 billion. His reign as CEO of J. Crew in the late ‘90s saw an expansion of online sales from $6 million to $30 million. While he was Chairman and CEO of Barneys New York from 2001 to 2008, the company’s value increased from $125 million to $943 million. Since 2006 Howard has served as a mentor to designers in a program originally established by the Vogue-CFDA Fashion Fund.
Director of Finance
Christina joined One Rockwell in January 2013, bringing over 20 years of financial, operational and managerial experience to the company, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters in Public Accounting from the University of Miami. Beginning at Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was an audit senior, she has worked extensively as an accountant and controller for real estate development companies, as well as the University of Miami. She oversees investments and accounting at One Rockwell, as well as payroll, accounts payable and business services.
Alex has been designing strategic solutions for a vast range of complex user problems on both the product and agency side for over 8 years. He brings a wealth of digital knowledge and experience in eCommerce, B2B commerce and software application design to the 1R team. Prior to transitioning into UX, Alex wore several hats as a QA analyst, visual designer and front end developer. Alex was a key contributor to launching eCom and B2B sites for clients such as, David Yurman, Marc Jacobs, Mara Hoffman and Clinique. Most recently, Alex worked at Axial Networks where he helped conceptualize, test, and design new tools to help connect business owners to capital providers via strategic on boarding flows, industrial taxonomy search and company profile creation.
Meet The Advisors
Venezuelan entrepreneur and investor Carmen Busquets was an early champion of the fashion-tech space. She was the founding investor in major digital success story Net-a-Porter and amongst the first professional investors to see the value in luxury e-commerce more than a decade ago. Today, alongside Net-a-Porter, in which she still has a 2.3 percent stake, Busquets holds positions in companies including Moda Operandi, Astley Clarke and Maiyet through her investment fund, Cabus Ventures.
Busquets founded CoutureLab an e-commerce site which she dubs “a laboratory of ideas,” focused on supporting heritage and craftsmanship. In May 2011, Carmen won the ‘Individual Outstanding Achievement’ at the Luxury Briefing Awards.
In November 2012 Busquets launched GiftLab. That same year Busquets founded Cabus Venture, a dedicated investment vehicle to finance entrepreneurs, based upon the potential of their content, community and commerce offerings, within the luxury and fashion verticals only. Thus far Busquets has taken stakes in Moda Operandi, Astley Clarke, Maiyet, Merchantry, ASAP54 and The Business of Fashion. In addition to her role as an investor at Moda Operandi, Busquets acts as an adviser and a consultant to the e-tailer.
Building on her many years of ecommerce experience, in 2011 Suzanne Norris started SRN Consulting, an ecommerce strategy firm focused on driving online commerce while balancing overall brand needs. Ms. Norris’ expertise is in providing brands, particularly in the fashion industry, strategies and implementation plans to launch an ecommerce business or to realize the full potential of their existing ecommerce business. She has worked with several brands on short-term and long-term projects including Henri Bendel, Tracy Reese, Nicole Miller, Ultra Diamonds and Figue.
Prior to founding her firm, Ms. Norris was Vice President of ecommerce for Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade from 2008 – 2011 where she was responsible for all aspects of the ecommerce business including financial performance, strategic planning, management, operations, and online marketing. During her time at Kate Spade and Jack Spade, the company’s ecommerce sales and profits increased 500%+ while balancing the overall brand objective to use the website to drive traffic into its retail stores and wholesale locations. Before joining Kate Spade, Ms. Norris was Vice President of ecommerce for Liz Claiborne, Sigrid Olsen and Elisabeth brands and delivered strong annual channel growth despite overall challenging brand performance. Prior to Liz Claiborne, she was a Principal at The Parthenon Group, a management consulting firm in Boston, where she worked with clients in the consumer goods and financial industries.
Ms. Norris has an MBA from Harvard Business School and BA from Harvard University.
With over 20 years of experience, Larry is a strategic, innovative Ecommerce, Retail, and Omnichannel Marketing business leader who drives industry leading performance and builds high performing organizations and culture. Larry is currently a Digital/ Ecommerce Consultant and Advisorproviding brands, retailers and startups with global e-commerce strategy, digital marketing, mobile & omni-channel advisory services that deliver exponential growth
Previously Larry was Senior Vice President, Digital Commerce for Vince Camuto; he was responsible for all e-commerce and omni-channel strategies, operations, and initiatives. Prior to Vince Camuto, he was Vice President, E-Commerce for Barneys New York, managing all aspects of Barney’s e-commerce division from its inception. He has developed and lead multi-channel and database marketing strategies with positions at Bluefly.com, Coach, and Bloomingdale’s.
Larry holds a BA in Communications from the State University of New York at Albany and an MBA in Marketing from Pace University. Larry is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, serves as a mentor and/or advisor for several start-up businesses, and is a Board Member and Treasurer for All Points North Foundation, a private family foundation investing in education innovation
and renewable energy.
As an entrepreneur and chief executive officer of Fast Forward Consulting, Caren Rabbino has extensive experience in strategic planning and managing operations to ensure growth and stability for technology-dependent businesses. Since establishing Fast Forward Consulting in 2000, Caren has worked with entrepreneurial companies across a wide range of industries to provide an outside perspective and re-think strategic and operational issues that thwart organizational growth. Caren is able to advise on best practices in finance, marketing, sales, customer service, human resources and information technology. Caren’s clients include: Christie’s, Lehmann Maupin Gallery, Museum Art and Design, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Kramer Design Group, R & Company, Cool Hunting, CFDA to name a few. Currently Caren serves as a judge for the Global Social Venture Competition (Columbia University) and on the Board of Directors of Hester Street Collaborative in New York.
Ms. Rabbino received a B.A. in the History of Art (1982) and an M.A. in English Literature (1984) from the University of Pennsylvania.
