The Camuto Group started in 2001 as a shoe design, development, and distribution resource for retailers. In the last 14 years, the company has expanded into a global business - diversifying their product offering, acquiring licenses and partners, and bringing new brands to market. Mercedes Castillo, in partnership with the Camuto Group, launched its debut Spring 2017 Collection in February 2017. Mercedes Castillo, known for her beautifully crafted shoes, handbags, ready-to-wear, and accessories, is a force to be reckoned with. Studying fashion design in Madrid and Milan, Mercedes worked for Gianfranco Ferré in Milan before moving to New York where she took on design direction for footwear at Donna Karan International. In 2005, Mercedes joined forces with Camuto Group to launch Tory Burch shoes, later leading creative direction of Tory Burch handbags and accessories.

As a new brand, Mercedes Castillo was seeking an introductory online experience to match its elegant and stylized line.

The Intake

Mercedes Castillo was looking to create a compelling, luxurious, and state-of-the-art online shopping experience that would communicate the brand story, purpose, and product design in an effective and easy-to-navigate manner. Product categories include Footwear, Handbags, and Apparel & Jewelry with more collections to follow as the brand grows. The site was launched on the Salesforce Commerce platform, with planned integrations to Jagged Peak (OMS), High Jump (WMS), and a full product information management (PIMs) data system of record.

The Task

One Rockwell was faced with the task of designing a mobile-first and beautifully designed transactional eCommerce website for the new luxury lifestyle fashion brand. One Rockwell leveraged newly created brand assets to design an experience that reflected the brand’s core values: authenticity, luxury, quality, personal expression, and ease.

The Execution

One Rockwell’s approach to design was to reflect the brand identity and engage the user through a best-practice shopping and content experience for both mobile and desktop devices. One Rockwell designed a best-in-class digital experience that is focused on brand awareness, product education, and customer conversion. A successful collaboration with the SI Team ensured business and technical requirements were accurately captured within the front-end experience.

The Results

Launching with the debut collection for Spring 2017, artfully presents the aesthetic vision of the brand while featuring elegant, everyday product designs that are easily shoppable.
