Michael Saiger, Creative Director and Founder of Miansai, started his brand from his college dorm room in 2008. He sought to create accessories for men which couldn’t be found anywhere else on the market. Meticulous hand-craftsmanship and the highest quality materials ensure that Miansai products are always modern and on trend.

Miansai uses the world around us as their source of inspiration to make sure their product is always-evolving. Much like their product, Miansai desired to take their digital site to the next level. Already a One Rockwell client as of 2015, the Miansai team was interested in re-designing and re-platforming. Miansai reached out to One Rockwell to help guide their decision of choosing the best platform to suit growing needs.

The Intake

The Miansai team, in partnership with a trusted One Rockwell digital marketing partner, had experienced expansive growth. The team was looking to re-apply funds back into their digital ecosystem. The brand desired a solution that would complement their in-store experience. The solution needed to alleviate ongoing back-end investments and allow finances to be applied towards a more robust user experience and brand presentation.

Following careful technical assessment, One Rockwell recommended Shopify Plus based on its robust community, scalable solution, ease of integration capabilities, and flexibility in brand presentation.

The Task

Previously, the Miansai team was handling most of their processes, specifically customer inquiries, manually. As Miansai was interested in automating their process and data flow to help with their customer service experience, One Rockwell recommended utilizing an ERP solution to automate their flow.

In addition, new features that would represent the in-store experience in a seamless digital matter would be at the forefront for this new commerce initiative.

By incorporating smart cross-sells, monogramming, and pre-ordering, the brand would ensure their .com users would experience a tailored experience.

The Execution

The Miansai team worked closely with One Rockwell business analysts to integrate third party solutions and overcome key pain points from their original build. To streamline and automate returns, One Rockwell utilized celigo to integrate Netsuite’s ERP solution for a more intuitive return process.

One Rockwell also provided efficient updates to the brand’s shipping logic and order process. The development team used the Shopify Plus pre-order functionality to accommodate desired business logic and implemented new payment methods such as paypal, apple pay, and amazon pay. A monogramming option was also implemented, seamlessly integrated end-to-end with Netsuite’s ERP. The development team utilized both the UPS api and iParcel for diversified domestic and international shipping options.

In order to consolidate content and commerce management, One Rockwell leveraged Shopify Plus native blog template to create a digital journal that would feature press placements, urban city guides, and other collateral around brand education. In addition, the team implemented in-grid promotional modules that would ensure the content married seamlessly with the commerce exploration.

The Results

Following a seamless deployment, One Rockwell merged the Miansai team right back into its post launch support program. Following launch, funds are projected to be re-allocated from heavy technical investments to innovative digital initiatives, made possible by this new ecosystem. The minimalistic and intuitive development has provided the Miansai team with digital freedom to fully immerse themselves in ensuring a branded experience across all channels.
