Our Work (— and other fabulous news)
Global Luxury Brand Brings Joy to Gifting in Website's US Launch
At GIFTLAB, the world’s premier destination for luxury online gifting, the team believes that opening the package should be as enjoyable as receiving the gift itself. Our goal was to carry this philosophy into design and create a site with the brand’s pop art-inspired visual identity woven throughout. In such, we were able to provide customers with the bright, joyous GIFTLAB experience from the first click to the very last.
Shoppable stories, juxtaposed with meticulously edited product, create an engaging editorial feel, while bold colored hovers and an animated logo in the collapsed header add a touch of whimsy and surprise.
Advanced cross-platform integration allowed us to unite new editorial features with existing commerce content. Complete information architecture and a seamless user interface provide GIFTLAB shoppers with a truly luxurious and thoughtful shopping experience.

Celebrated Cashmere Mill Makes eCommerce Debut
Like the timeless pieces in their highly anticipated debut collection, Scottish cashmere mill, Todd & Duncan, has true staying power. After 140 years of supplying yarns to some the world’s most luxurious fashion houses, the renowned brand is unveiling their inaugural women’s ready-to-wear collection with a store in New York’s SoHo and a feature-rich eCommerce destination.
Our mission was to design a website that is both dynamic — with fresh layouts and ample editorial content, and distinctly responsive on all mobile devices — with features such as parallax scrolling.
Images take front and center on the product detail page with generous proportions and exposed alt views. Unique zoom functionality provides customers with the ability to explore the high-quality textiles and appreciate the impeccable construction of the garments.
In the Heritage section of the site, the clean, modern design is juxtaposed with Todd & Duncan’s rich history. Visitors are immersed in the centuries-old story of the brand and are invited to follow the narrative from goat to modern garment.
Beauty and High-End Functionality Converge in New eCommerce Destination
At Etienne Aigner, craftsmanship, beauty and practicality are hallmarks of the historic label. In establishing an online presence for the brand, our goal was to capture the spirit and design philosophy of Etienne Aigner himself. With a design centered on simplicity, elegance and a seamless user experience, we were able to deliver an online extension of the brand’s vision
To maximize the editorial feature, Ladies Who Luck, One Rockwell developed an evergreen custom tool that provides shoppable editorial content. This functionality allows for content to be easily managed and updated from the CMS, creating a fully integrated shopping experience season to season. The brand’s rich history is featured in the Heritage section of the site. Using images of Etienne’s iconic handbags from the 50s and 60s, we were able to present the story of Etienne Aigner, while highlighting trademark characteristics of the brand through interactive content.
In addition to design and development, we’ve helped the brand create a more streamlined workflow by automating backend processes and integrating third party systems. We have also implemented email lists, calendars and branded email campaigns to create a more focused and consistent marketing effort and a unified brand experience.

Luxury Lifestyle Brand Seeks Partner in Growth
Luxury lifestyle brand Calypso St. Barth was looking to make a change. In partnering with One Rockwell, they retained a reliable team, well versed in the Magento platform, to entrust the ongoing maintenance and support of their site.
Our most critical task was to execute a seamless full site migration, including all integration touch points, with virtually no downtime to the site. Once the site was in our hands, we were able to provide the brand with an optimal, scalable hosting solution and began providing 24/7 IT monitoring and technical support.
In addition to technical services, we worked with the brand to develop a more streamlined merchandising workflow to facilitate the continual addition of fresh content to the site. To support Calypso St. Barth in their marketing efforts we perform daily content and product updates, develop and deploy branded emails and manage the brand’s marketing calendar, for both online and offline campaigns.
Our efforts have resulted in an improved online brand experience, greater site speed and increased traffic to the eCommerce site, as well as retail stores.
Iconic Brand Revamps eCommerce Presence with Bold, Interactive Design
In building a site for Sam Edelman, our mission was to capture the essence of the brand through bold, bright, eye-catching elements. With a design centered on clean functionality, we were able to bring Sam’s aesthetic to the forefront of the site by incorporating ‘Sam-isms’ in his trademark handwriting.
The fashion-forward Sam Edelman brand is marked by consistently on-trend designs. A variety of special feature pages bring the brand’s tastemaker status to life. Each season’s most coveted styles are highlighted with smart editorial imagery in the Trend Shop. The Edelman Icons feature page showcases the brand’s most-loved styles and highlights the details that make these shoes a classic. Samspiration provides a glimpse inside the esteemed mind of Sam himself though bold, interactive imagery.
In partnering with Sam Edelman, our challenge lied in building the new site within parent company Brown Shoe’s platform. We rose to the occasion by providing an adaptable site with a liquid grid, to create a gallery of shoes, as well as an interactive homepage and 360º product views on the product landing pages.
In addition to design and development, we assisted the brand in creating striking visual content for their new eCommerce destination. In an effort to achieve more consistent, impactful photography, we managed eCommerce photo shoots as well as art directed, styled and shot all still life assets for online marketing and promotions.
Feminine Luxe and Modern Bohemian Coalesce in Website Overhaul
Just like creating the perfect dress, OneRockwell was given the opportunity to design a captivating, multi-dimensional website that thoroughly defines the Tracy Reese aesthetic. Our mission was to design a website which was both functional - in keeping up with the seasonal deliveries, and stylish - to capture the ever changing silhouettes and color ways. Between dynamic pattern bars, shoppable inspiration boards, and various outlets for promotional language, One Rockwell has provided Tracy Reese with an array of marketing tools that capture brand awareness.
We were also to present a unified site while expressing the identity of both lines, Tracy Reese and Plenty by Tracy Reese. With an intuitive design that enables both collections to coexist on one site, we have united the playful bohemian nature of Plenty by Tracy Reese with the contemporary, sophistication of Tracy Reese.
Tracy’s World is a section of the site that we've particularly enjoyed creating. It is a backstage pass inside the world of Tracy Reese, from her travels and inspirations to memorable career highlights. Visitors are invited to join the team backstage during Fashion week, experience the company's excitement during the Michelle Obama inauguration of her Tracy Reese dress, and are even given a sneak peek of what's to come.
Global Expansion of eCommerce Site
Cult favorite James Perse approached One Rockwell to develop eCommerce sites for its Global Partners in Europe and Canada. Mirroring the design, functionality and user experience of the current US site, which runs on the ATG platform, One Rockwell re-created the shopping experience within Magento Enterprise, while introducing several enhancements, streamlining unnecessary complexities and optimizing the user experience.
Each Global Partner integrates independently with its own inventory and pricing back-end, fulfillment, payment gateway, taxes and shipping systems, according to their geographical location; One Rockwell developed a sophisticated custom extension that enables these extraordinary features. The result is a true multi-lingual, multi-currency site that can be managed from a centralized location while providing each partner with control over its own product bookings, ordering and customer management.
Since all product data is sourced through the ATG installation, which is dated and has extremely limited capabilities, an intricate workflow was developed by One Rockwell to process and validate the feeds, format them for translation, and serve them to the different partners' systems seamlessly twice a month.
Customer segmentation across the globe presented another challenge to the business. One Rockwell developed an email list integration that allows customers to sign up for emails according to gender, territory and language preferences, among other variables. One Rockwell managed the translation process as well as provided strategic expertise to the Client in various areas of the project, including geo-location, SEO, UX and technology.
Phased launches for the global sites — including UK, Europe, and Canada, are scheduled for April and May 2013. This execution allows for the direct alliance of loyal James Perse customers around the world, while preserving the unique brand philosophy of effortless sophistication. Scheduled for the fall are the Japanese launch and ultimately, the migration of the entire US site to the Magento Enterprise platform.
Consistency, technical creativity and cutting-edge development techniques are some of the key elements that helped drive this initiative. These advancements help position James Perse as one of the leading online destinations for casual luxury products worldwide.

Heirloom Jewelry Designers Take Their Pieces Online
Luxury jewelry brand Ten Thousand Things derives its name from a line of ancient Chinese philosophy, which implies that from one thing, ten thousand things are born. This principle of infinite creativity and constant evolution is what motivates designers David Rees and Ron Anderson to design their heirloom pieces.
Since the inception of the brand and openings of their retail store and production studio in NYC over a decade ago, the jewelry line has attracted fashion designers, wardrobe stylists, and celebrities alike. Celebrity launches coffee brand and gallery site as a way to celebrate and support Rwanda
Grace Hightower De Niro believes in the spirit of giving back and inspiring those who are motivated to succeed. It is her belief in the Rwandan community that encouraged her to create a brand of coffee that represents the Rwandan people's courageous spirit to succeed. Having a vision for her brand, she reached out to One Rockwell to help turn that vision into a reality. One Rockwell partnered up with Grace and her team of strategists to help guide them through the online process.
With a product line already in place and wholesalers lined up, the Coffee of Grace brand was ready for the launch of a gallery site that reflected their mission and created awareness. One Rockwell drew inspiration for the design of the site from the raw footage that was provided to them of the gorgeous Rwandan landscapes and of the coffee farmers themselves at work. To leverage social media, One Rockwell created a Facebook fan page to coincide with the launch of the site, which took place Fall of 2012.
Simple Elegance Defines Couture Label's Online Aesthetic
Duality has always been a constant theme for the budding SoCal-born, NYC-based designer Chadwick Bell. Leveraging the dichotomy that defines Bell's work and his commitment to simple elegance, One Rockwell conceptualized and re-created a new website to showcase the designer's collections through a streamlined, user-friendly platform.
The original site, our team noticed, had been built out of sliced images that didn't contain any copy making it difficult to both manage and maintain and provided zero recognition among search engines.
Our team re-created the entire site, added copy and made it indexable. A better press module was implemented and images were presented in a larger format for better experience. The new site was made easier to manage and update allowing for new collections to be posted online immediately after being introduced. Video streaming capabilities were improved and all of this was done without sacrificing the simplicity and elegance of the brand.
Invitation-only Shopping Platform Thinks Outside the Box
Mintbox, the shopping platform offering invitation-only in-store and online shopping opportunities from top brands, approached One Rockwell to assist with the launch of their beta site.
Our team took their existing platform that had been built in Flash and re-created it in HTML. Pages that included all of their offerings, galleries and products for their new click-through site were manually created while a connection between the front-end and back-end database was established.
With the help of One Rockwell, Mintbox was able to launch successfully and on-time. One Rockwell later became their official partner for creative and technical solutions and built modules for eCommerce transactions within the Mintbox site.
